Full-Time | $28–$30/hr + Shift Premium + Overtime

Shift Details
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (+$1.50/hr shift differential)
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (+$2.00/hr shift differential)
Overtime available based on production needs

Position Summary: The Coating Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining coating machine lines to ensure products meet strict quality, color, and production specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely while maintaining consistent production output.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate coating machines for various material runs
  • Adjust line speed, oven temperatures, and coating rollers to meet specifications
  • Monitor coating application for coverage, alignment, and quality control
  • Perform inspections for:
  • Proper coating coverage
  • Surface defects and contaminants
  • Sheet alignment and consistency
  • Use measurement tools (including spectrophotometer readings) to verify color accuracy
  • Perform machine wash-ups and changeovers, including Anilox roller maintenance
  • Ensure proper sheet flow through coater, oven, and stacking systems
  • Conduct coating weight and viscosity checks as required
  • Inspect incoming materials for:
  • Correct dimensions
  • Surface condition
  • Work order accuracy
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
  • Keep work area clean, safe, and organized at all times
  • Additional Duties
  • Assist with material handling and continuous feed operations
  • Adjust equipment to prevent defects such as:
  • Double sheets
  • Damaged edges
  • Misalignment
  • Monitor oven performance and report any deviations immediately
  • Coordinate with production team members to maintain workflow efficiency

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1+ year experience in manufacturing, machine operation, printing, or coating
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and production standards
  • Color vision required (for coating and quality inspection)
  • Preferred Experience (Not Required)
  • Coating, printing, or metal decorating experience
  • Experience with Anilox rollers, ovens, or industrial coating systems
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
