General Job Description: The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing and warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity. This role manages daily plant activities, workforce development, equipment performance, and inventory control while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the facility. The Plant Manager serves as a key leader in aligning production goals with company objectives and customer expectations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Operations Management
Oversee all daily manufacturing and warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations.
Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Monitor workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize productivity.
Collaborate with leadership to implement operational strategies and improvements.
Quality & Compliance
Maintain and enforce quality control standards for all materials and finished products.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Identify and resolve production or quality issues in a timely manner.
Support audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Equipment & Facility Management
Oversee maintenance programs to ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
Maintain facility organization, layout, and cleanliness to improve workflow and inventory control.
Inventory & Logistics
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure proper stock of raw materials and finished goods.
Oversee shipping and receiving processes for accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of inventory and logistics activities.
Leadership & Workforce Management
Supervise, train, and develop plant personnel to maintain a high-performing team.
Lead hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for warehouse and production staff.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed.
Minor Duties and Responsibilities
Implement and enforce workplace safety practices and procedures.
Assist with packaging, labeling, and shipping processes when needed.
Schedule and oversee periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
Prepare reports on plant performance, inventory, and operational metrics.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
Forklift Certification.
3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or plant operations, with leadership responsibility.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Knowledge of inventory systems, logistics, and production workflows.
Experience with quality control systems and safety compliance standards.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems preferred.
