This role manages daily plant activities, workforce development, equipment performance, and inventory control while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the facility. The Plant Manager serves as a key leader in aligning production goals with company objectives and customer expectations.
Operations Management
- Oversee all daily manufacturing and warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Monitor workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize productivity.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement operational strategies and improvements.
- Maintain and enforce quality control standards for all materials and finished products.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Identify and resolve production or quality issues in a timely manner.
- Support audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee maintenance programs to ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain facility organization, layout, and cleanliness to improve workflow and inventory control.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure proper stock of raw materials and finished goods.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of inventory and logistics activities.
- Supervise, train, and develop plant personnel to maintain a high-performing team.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for warehouse and production staff.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed.
- Implement and enforce workplace safety practices and procedures.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and shipping processes when needed.
- Schedule and oversee periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
- Prepare reports on plant performance, inventory, and operational metrics.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Forklift Certification.
- 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or plant operations, with leadership responsibility.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Knowledge of inventory systems, logistics, and production workflows.
- Experience with quality control systems and safety compliance standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems preferred.
