General Maintenance Mechanic Location: Manufacturing Facility (On-Site) Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Flexible / Any Shift Compensation: $29.10 – $30.52 per hour
Position Overview The General Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical, equipment, and facility maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations. This role operates independently, provides technical guidance to other maintenance personnel, and supports improvement initiatives across machinery and building systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine mechanical inspections and complete equipment repairs or part replacements
Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend improved methods or solutions
Support machinery relocation, installation, and production line modifications
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, machines, and equipment
Conduct maintenance across a wide range of industrial equipment including:
Production lines and conveyors
Punch presses and body makers
Injection molding machines
Printing, coating, and oven systems
Compressors, HVAC, and electrical systems
Utilize precision measuring tools and interpret engineering drawings
Monitor equipment and facility conditions to ensure workplace safety
Report and escalate any unsafe conditions that cannot be immediately corrected
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed
Support off-shift or extended hours work during critical maintenance periods
Required Skills & Technical Abilities
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair expertise
Proficient with:
Hand and power tools
Calipers, gauges, and micrometers
Machine shop equipment
Forklift operation (license required)
Reading mechanical and engineering schematics
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to approximately 60 pounds
Education & Experience
High school diploma or vocational training (or equivalent experience)
Approximately 3 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
Work Environment & Collaboration
Works closely with production teams, machine shop personnel, and maintenance staff
Reports directly to Maintenance Department leadership
No direct supervisory responsibilities

Adapt to non-standard work schedules for repairs, installations, or preventive maintenance
