Electrician – 2nd Shift (7% Shift Premium) Location: Rockford, IL Pay Range: $29.10 – $30.52 per hour + 7% shift differential Schedule: Full-Time | 2nd Shift Industry: Manufacturing / Industrial Maintenance Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support manufacturing operations through installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. This role works independently with minimal supervision and plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment
Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and perform emergency repairs
Install and maintain motors, transformers, control panels, breakers, switches, PLCs, and wiring
Perform electrical work on production equipment such as presses, conveyors, molding machines, and printing systems
Install conduit and electrical infrastructure as needed
Maintain plant lighting, paging systems, time clocks, batteries, chargers, and forklifts
Monitor workplace safety and comply with all electrical and plant safety standards
Maintain electrical parts and supplies inventory and report material needs
Perform work inside and outside the facility, including ladder climbing and handling heavy tools
Required Skills & Qualifications
Industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience
Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, controls, and troubleshooting
Familiarity with PLCs, motors, and production equipment
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing facility setting
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and use of hand tools
Occasional lifting and equipment movement
