Job Overview We are seeking an experienced 2-Color Press Operator to prepare, operate, and maintain a tandem offset lithography press line with a trailing coater. This role is responsible for press setup, color accuracy, equipment operation, and maintaining high production quality throughout each run.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate tandem (2-color) offset lithography press systems
Maintain precise ink balance, color consistency, and registration
Interpret work orders, layouts, and special setup requirements
Install press plates, blankets, rollers, inks, and water systems to tight tolerances
Operate and monitor full production line including feeder, oven, and stacker
Adjust oven temperatures and verify proper curing throughout production
Control ink fountains and adjust coverage for optimal print quality
Monitor sheet output for drying, color control, and defects
Maintain lithographic quality standards across entire production runs
Supervise and train press feeders and support personnel during operations
Identify spoilage and maintain accurate production logs
Set up and monitor trailing coater systems for proper film weight, viscosity, and coverage
Retool registry systems as needed and maintain color sample records
Ensure safe operation and cleanliness of equipment
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 2 years of press operation or lithography experience preferred
High school diploma, GED, or vocational training
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to interpret production orders and technical specifications
Excellent color vision (must pass Farnsworth Munsell Hue Test)
Experience with offset presses, automatic feeders, ovens, and coating systems a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Frequent climbing on and around machinery
Manual handling of materials and tools
