Title: Marine Electrician
Location: Jacksonville, FL. (Blount Island)
Compensation: $32 p/h negotiable + Benefits
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Marine Electrician with U.S. Navy (USN) experience to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard electrical systems.
This role is ideal for veterans with hands-on experience working on power distribution, control systems, and electrical components in operational maritime environments.

This position prefers service in the United States Navy, preferably in roles such as:
Electrician’s Mate (EM)
Interior Communications Electrician (IC)
Electronics Technician (ET) (power/distribution focus)
Engineman (EN) or Machinist’s Mate (MM) with electrical experience
Candidates with direct experience working on shipboard electrical systems and troubleshooting under operational conditions are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Maintenance & Repair
Inspect, maintain, and repair shipboard electrical systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults in power distribution systems
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical components and equipment
Installation & Upgrades
Install and upgrade electrical systems, wiring, panels, and components
Support modifications and retrofits of marine electrical systems
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Use testing equipment (multimeters, meggers, etc.) to identify issues
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Safety & Compliance
Follow all electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and operational standards
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
Qualifications
Prior service in the United States Navy
Experience working on shipboard electrical systems
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
Preferred Experience
Experience in:
Shipyards, maritime operations, or industrial environments
Power generation and distribution systems
Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems
Work Environment
Shipyard, dockside, or marine industrial environments
Exposure to electrical systems, confined spaces, and industrial conditions
May require physical activity including lifting, climbing, and extended standing
