Title: Director of IT Business Applications
Location: Remote
Compensation: $100k - $130k Negotiable based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a Director of IT Business Applications to oversee the daily operations of the Business Applications team and support strategic business goals. This role is responsible for the administration and continuous improvement of Field Service Management, ERP, and CRM systems, including end-user support, configuration, integrations, M&A support, training, SOP/documentation development, and troubleshooting.

Working closely with Operations, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and IT leadership, the Director will ensure business applications effectively support organizational needs. This position will also lead large-scale technology initiatives and projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.


Core Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Business Applications IT team, providing guidance and support to analysts and ensuring Service Desk tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team performance and skill sets.

Technology Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key sponsor, champion, and driver of technology initiatives to meet business needs.
  • Consult with and engage key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Project Management

  • Manage large, long-term projects related to Field Service, CRM, and ERP applications, including implementations, upgrades, and system changes.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet defined business requirements.

Communication & Change Management

  • Communicate effectively with internal customers to resolve issues and address concerns promptly.
  • Create and implement change management approaches and communication strategies to ensure successful adoption of new technologies and processes.

Business Applications Strategy, Support & Planning

  • Act as the primary liaison and change manager for the organization’s Field Service Management platform, overseeing strategic improvements, integration requirements, and issue resolution.
  • Support and help lead the planning and implementation of a new ERP system, including integrations, system enhancements, and business process modifications.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and third-party partners to deliver CRM integrations, enhancements, and ongoing application support.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities that improve efficiency and business performance.

Budget Management

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to forecast and manage the department budget.
  • Ensure expenditures remain within budgetary constraints and align with financial plans.

Innovation & Organizational Change

  • Support innovation and drive organizational change to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Stay current with new platforms and solutions, applying and teaching advancements as applicable.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel may be required to support business objectives and project needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in progressively complex assignments related to business applications.
  • Demonstrated technical experience supporting day-to-day business application operations.
  • Enterprise-level information systems leadership experience, including familiarity with Field Service Management, ERP, and CRM systems.
  • Significant experience in information systems project management.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and competing objectives.
  • Proven track record of sustained performance and leadership growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SaaS application support and development experience related to third-party vendor management.
  • Strong system integration skills utilizing iPaaS solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies.
  • Ability to drive organizational change and innovation.
  • High sense of urgency and commitment to end-user support resolution.
  • Experience in service-based, industrial, construction, or safety-related environments preferred.
