Operations Manager - Transportation
 
Work Location: Reno Nevada
Compensation: Negotiable based on experience
Performance Bonus: 10%-15% of base salary
 
 
 Job Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Supports the daily operations of the location and various departments.
Meets or exceed organizational standards.
Oversees
cross dock operations.
Communicates with drivers as needed to ensure safe and efficient customer service.
Assists with monitoring DOT and OSHA compliance with drivers and
cross dock workers.
Hires drivers and
cross dock workers to ensure proper numbers to support customer requirements.
Provides guidance and direction to staff, drivers and
cross dock personnel as necessary.
Assists with the training of new personnel.
Assists with ensuring that company budget requirements and profits are met.
Keeps upper management informed of performance
an any problems that could affect customer service.
Develops and maintains
daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Interfaces with customers as needed to ensure Key Performance Indicators are being met or exceeded.
Conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times to enhance the reputation of
company.
Handles special projects as needed to ensure that tasks and duties are being conducted and completed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
Assists with the implementation of best practices.
Other duties as needed or directed.

Job Requirements Include:
Military Veteran or family member preferred but not required.
College degree or equivalent amount of training and experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a truck transportation, cross dock or warehousing environment.
Verifiable experience managing or supervising CDL drivers or cross dock or warehouse workers.
Good working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
Customer Centric while at the same time balancing customer service with effective cost management.
Lean Six Sigma training and certification preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office products.
