Sheet Metal Mechanics & Helpers - HVAC

Location: Orange Park, FL
Mechanics - Must possess 3+ years experience and related skills in the sheet metal fabrication industry in order to be considered for employment. $17-$23 per hour with plenty of overtime available

Qualified Helpers - Must possess 1-2 years experience and related skills in the sheet metal fabrication or related industry in order to be considered for employment. $10-$12 per hour with plenty of overtime available. 

Our client is a full turnkey mechanical contractor with over 25 years experience in commercial and industrial HVAC fabrication. We are currently looking for 2 Helpers and 6 Fabrication Mechanics to assist them in the new construction of a commercial building in Fleming Island. 

This is a contract position that will last 1-6 months and possibly lead to future employment on other new projects in the area.    

Job position: Sheet Metal Mechanic Description: -
  • Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and also repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and also products, utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic nonmetallic materials, machining, and also layout techniques, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and also equipment -
  • Reads plus interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to define sequence methods of fabricating, assembling plus installing sheet metal products -
  • Selects gauge type of sheet metal, like galvanized iron, copper, steel, or aluminum, or nonmetallic material, like plastics or fiberglass, according to product specifications -
  • Lays out as well as marks dimensions plus reference lines on material, using scribers, dividers, squares, and also rulers, applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop trace patterns of product or parts or using templates -
  • Sets up as well as operates fabricating machines, like shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and also routers, to cut, bend, block form, or straighten materials -
  • Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form, using hand tools -
  • Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and also smooths surfaces, using hand tools portable power tools -
  • Welds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and also equipment -
  • Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints, using hand tools, power tools, and also lifting handling devices -
  • Inspects assemblies installation for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, like calipers, scales, dial indicators, gauges, and also micrometers -
  • Repairs maintains sheet metal products - May operate laser-beam cutter or plasma arc cutter to cut patterns from sheet metal
