Primary Objective of Position
Work with engineering circuit schematics and drawings. Assist with testing, debug, and design review efforts and in Qualification testing of new products. Prepare engineering documentation and test procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Technical Job Functions:
  • Work with Design Engineers to produce/revise engineering drawings, schematics, and PCB layouts. This includes preparation of detailed engineering drawings of component piece parts and assemblies and recommending changes for clarification.
  • Assist Design Engineers with assembly and debugging of electro optical and communication circuits.
  • Under minimal supervision coordinate documentation and revision control of engineering drawings and documents.
  • May help with benchmarking efforts and assist in preparing product samples including assembly and testing.
  • Support manufacturing documentation and detail process instructions for assembly of components and cable assemblies.
  • Establish and maintain positive productive working relationship within assigned teams and with all applicable Company departments, customers and vendors.
  • Observe established safe working and housekeeping procedures. Promptly correct and/or notify supervisor of hazardous situations.
  • Assist manufacturing with technical support.
  • Independently perform testing as required.
Authorities and Responsibilities    
  • Assume other projects and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
  • Learn new technologies as required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is presumed to be an essential function of all employment.              
  • Work with Production, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Daily independent and team decisions relating to new product programs and design projects. Has influence on manufacturing operations as related to manufacturability, schedule and product performance. 
  • EET and/or advanced degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical and Electronics CAD systems and applicable engineering programs.
  • Two years’ experience in a similar new product development environment.
  • Experience designing and reviewing electronic circuit schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Comprehensive experience with electronics and communications test equipment.
  • Experience in Environmental qualification testing to Mil-STD-810
  • Exposure to embedded firmware development and programming
  • Class III soldering ability desired
  • Fiber optic and/or physical optic design and testing
Must be a Lawful U.S. Permanent Resident or Citizen
COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to learn computer programs specific to the Company.

  • Proficiency in software as required; ability to perform math calculations, measurement, analysis or reporting as directed.
