Title: Electrical Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Compensation: $60k - $80k annually

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer/Project Manager for an engineering design and new product development company in Jacksonville, FL. This new position will fill the role of project manager for all new product development and actively work with the engineering department on electrical based product development by assisting in the research, design and development of products that require electrical components and systems.

Responsibilities:
 
Project Management
  • Provide the leadership, motivation, tools and techniques (new or currently used) for the NPD team to organize and prioritize the various tasks that need to be completed for new product development projects while meeting time, cost and quality goals
  • Support the new product development team by assisting with preparations of estimates for “budgetary pricing” for equipment and materials.
  • Manage Liquid Planner by keeping projects and tasks prioritized and by providing follow up with team members to assure all assignments are updated to keep projects on schedule
  • Provide training and guidance for team members using Liquid Planner
  • Conduct and encourage frequent formal and informal communication within the NPD team to ensure full engagement and efficient operation
  • Assist with tasks required for new product testing for the engineering team as needed.
  • Provide project status reports to executive management on a regular basis.
  • Serve as the administrator of Liquid Planner
Electrical Engineer
  • Develop and install electrical components and systems, assess and modify existing power distribution systems and troubleshoot relay and data system designs as needed for specific products
  • Research and document test results
  • Ensure reliable operation of equipment used for products and for testing
  • Act as engineering and technical support for all applicable products including technical training of staff, distributors and end users.
  • Work with the Engineering and Manufacturing Director and the QA Manager to research and make recommendations for safety efforts.
  • Ensure that any required product testing (pre and post launch) is designed and executed
  • Provide the guidance for the Quality Assurance function with the QA Manager
  • Maintain vendor technical relationships
  • Participate in trade shows and interactions with sales personnel and key customers as needed
  • Develop technical proposals – responding to technical RFPs – with cost analyses
  • Develop skills in product idea creation, market vision and product direction
Qualifications:
 
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience in project management, electrical engineering or other related fields
  • Familiarity with electrical diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of relay design standards
  • Excellent root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Intermediate level skill with Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Intermediate level skill with Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Ability to operate power tools and hand tools
  • Maintain proficiency in using personal computer and other common office equipment and software
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to use safety equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses and respirators
  • Ability to work in an unconditioned work space as needed
  • Ability to work at a desk and use a computer for a full work day and stay alert
  • Present a professional image at all times to co-workers, customers and vendors
