CNC Machinist and Programmer

Details of position 
The Machine Shop Programmer is responsible for the programming and maintenance of computer numeric controlled (CNC) machine.  Must work with supervisor and others to ensure that production schedules are met.  Must be able to work from complex blueprints, solid models and step files, and verbal or written instructions with minimal supervision.

  •     Will be responsible of creating CNC Mills & Lathe programs.
  •     Maintain all CNC programs and ensure accuracy of all instructions through comparison with original blueprints and design program network to increase efficiency of all programs.
  •     Preparing proper files for the machines including creating work instructions and shop aids.
  • Ordering raw materials, tools and consumable items as required.
  •     Ensure optimal utilization of all spreadsheets and bill of materials and analyze all sketches and drawings.
  •     Establish all reference points and provide assistance to machine paths and calculate all angular and linear dimensions and design sequence for all machine parts and prepare geometric layout with help of various software.
  •     Identify all instruction errors and assist to resolve then to ensure appropriate trial run and design new programs for all production CNC machines to ensure quality.
  •     Analyze and recommend all cutting tools with the proper speed and feeds for CNC programs.
  •     Prepare and verify all technical documents for CNC programs.
  •     Provide all required tooling information and reduce cycle time for all programs.
  •     Design all new processes to reduce time for all CNC programs.
  •     May be required to run CNC and conventional machines.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned per the supervisor. 
Education:   Associates degree from two-year College or technical school, or equivalent and /or training required.
Qualified candidate will have 5+ years CNC Lathe & CNC Mill programming experience.
3+ years experience with precision machining.  MasterCam (6) or higher for Mill & Lathe
SolidWorks and AutoCad latest revision.
Experience with machine shop environment desired.
Experience with metal processing or plating and engraving is highly preferred.
Familiar with Military Specifications for assembly, test and interpreting engineering drawings.
