Accounting Assistant

Location: Trevose, PA
Salary: $42,000 - $55,000 per year

Position Summary:
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for a combination of accounting, customer service and office support duties. These include A/R and A/P processes, credit & collections, maintaining financial records, assisting in general ledger record keeping and other daily tasks and duties as needed or required.
  • Correcting, processing, and reconciling accounting documents such as AP/AR invoices, cash receipts, statements and commission calculations.
  • Managing and processing vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.
  • Reviewing and reconciling vendor and commission statements.
  • Providing extraordinary customer service by researching and resolving customer account discrepancies and collections.  
  • A/R processes and procedures including credit levels, account set up and stop ship procedures.
  • Preparing checks and deposits.
  • Revieing credit card expenses and receipts for accuracy and completeness and processing to appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Organizing and maintaining accounting A/R and A/P accounts and filing system.
  • Analyzing accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assisting in end of month procedures such as bank reconciliations, posting wire transfer and prepayments, resolving discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Ordering office supplies.
  • Processing payroll and benefit programs as required.
  • Other duties as needed or required.
  • Military Veteran or family member preferred but not required.
  • 2-year Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in accounting, including A/P and A/R.
  • Sage Mas 100/SAP Business One experience is a plus.
  • Solid Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP based accounting methods and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and committed to teamwork.
  • Able to work well with little supervision.
