Tier 2 Cybersecurity Technician (MSP Projects) Location: Jacksonville, FL Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Compensation: $50,000 – $65,000 (based on experience) Schedule: Monday–Friday Work Environment: Onsite / Hybrid (client-facing MSP projects)
Position Overview We are seeking a Tier 2 Cybersecurity Technician to support and execute cybersecurity initiatives across managed service provider (MSP) client environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with experience supporting security operations, investigating incidents, and deploying security tools in SMB and mid-market environments. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and project teams to secure client networks, remediate threats, and improve overall security posture while serving as an escalation point for Tier 1 issues. Key Responsibilities
Respond to and investigate security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities
Perform threat analysis, remediation, and root-cause investigations
Support deployment and management of endpoint protection, firewalls, and security monitoring tools
Assist with vulnerability scanning, patching, and remediation efforts
Implement and maintain security controls aligned with best practices
Support client cybersecurity projects, upgrades, and compliance initiatives
Escalate complex issues to senior engineers as needed
Document incidents, procedures, and security recommendations
Provide guidance and mentorship to Tier 1 technicians
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or MSP environments
Working knowledge of endpoint security, firewalls, antivirus/EDR, and MFA
Experience responding to security incidents and alerts
Strong understanding of Windows environments and basic networking concepts
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security tools is a plus
Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and clients
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Experience in an MSP or multi-client environment
Exposure to SIEM, vulnerability management, or SOC workflows
Security+ or other cybersecurity certifications (preferred, not required)
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and time-management skills
